DTEK Group has integrated the video course “Anti-Corruption” from the UN Global Compact Ukraine into its internal portal. During the first week, 1,200 employees took the course, including both production workers, such as power engineers and mechanics, and managers of various levels: heads of departments, chief engineers and site managers.
The video course “Anti-Corruption” was released by the UN Global Compact Ukraine as part of the Anti-Corruption Collective Action program. Its goal is to develop principles of integrity for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to raise awareness of corruption risks at different operational levels in large companies.
The development of the course took more than two years. More than 50 Ukrainian experts from the private and public sectors were involved in the process. DTEK was a member of the working group and was directly involved in the development of the course’s educational part. That is why its management did not hesitate to introduce this educational series as part of the training of its large team.
Oleksiy Povolotskiy, DTEK’s Director of Corporate Governance and Compliance, emphasizes that the course has enabled employees to look at the topic of corruption in a broader way than just implementing compliance controls. The course reminds them that the key approaches to anti-corruption are the same for small and medium-sized enterprises as well as for large Ukrainian and international companies. Oleksiy Povolotsky added:
“Building an honest and transparent business depends on every person in the company, not just the management or shareholders. The actions of each employee have a direct impact on the business, so everyone must clearly understand the rules of anti-corruption and apply them in their daily work.”
DTEK is convinced that integrating external courses, such as Anti-Corruption, into the company’s internal platforms can be a quality addition to the company’s employee education.
The Anti-Corruption educational series was created with the informational support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development. It is available on the Diia.Business portal and the Diia.Digital Education platform.
