Mental Help

In 2022, the full-scale war turned life in Ukraine upside down.
Constant stress, loss, and displacement — for some, for the second time in less than a decade — became part of everyday life.
As the need for psychological support surged, access to it didn’t keep up. That gap is what we set out to close.

This is how Mental Help came to life.

Mental Help is a free psychological support platform developed by the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine, operating from 2022 to 2024. It provided fast, easy access to qualified psychologists. Users could choose a specialist based on their needs and receive professional support tailored to their situation.

These numbers represent thousands of stories of relief, recovery, and renewed hope — proof that even in the darkest moments, support can be there.

“In the first years of the full-scale invasion, the platform became a source of support for thousands of Ukrainians facing anxiety, uncertainty, and the pain of loss. People came to us with burnout, relationship challenges, and homesickness. Our psychologists helped them cope with loss and adapt to displacement,” — says Kateryna Denisova, Head of the “Mental Help” Project..

Project Reviews

I want to thank the platform’s psychologist for pulling me out of depression and anxiety without any medication and helping me understand myself. I am once again enjoying life, finding strength within myself, learning to understand and accept myself, overcoming anxiety, and my apathy has disappeared.

As a result of my work with the platform’s psychologist, I have become more self-aware. I now understand my desires, emotions, and feelings. I have let go of unrealistic expectations of myself and others, and I am more accepting and less expectant. When anxiety does arise, I know how to help myself and reduce it. This has been significant progress for me, and my quality of life has almost returned to its pre-war state.

Sessions with the psychologist have brought me back to life and added vibrant colors!
