The German Global Compact Network, together with other national networks, has created the CoP Mapping Tool. This online tool helps companies navigate various sustainability reporting standards, simplifying the reporting process for businesses.
What is it?
The CoP Mapping Tool is an online resource designed to support companies that are required to report under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and must use the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
How does it work?
The tool compares ESRS data points with corresponding points in other reporting standards and frameworks, including:
- the United Nations Global Compact’s Communication on Progress (CoP) report;
- the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards;
- the supervisory authority questionnaire under the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG);
- the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) questionnaire.
Important to note:
- this tool does not confirm the equivalence of standards, but highlights overlaps and indicates similarities;
- the tool does not replace legal consultation;
- the content is based on Implementation Guidance 3 (IG 3) by EFRAG;
- published on May 31, 2024.
