Invitation to the Partnership for Sustainability Award Ceremony 2023

We will announce the winners of the Partnership for Sustainability Award at the ceremony, which will take place on October 17 at 04:00 (UTC+2).

This event is an annual international campaign in which the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine recognizes the best projects implemented in partnership between business, government and civil society to achieve the SDGs. This year, we are awarding projects of participants from Ukraine and European countries aimed at supporting Ukraine during the full-scale invasion, as well as other best practices of sustainable development that can serve as an example for future recovery.

Among the participants of this year’s competition are representatives of Ukraine, Great Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Croatia, Poland, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

The event will be attended by Ukrainian celebrities, opinion leaders and ambassadors of the UNGC Ukraine. The detailed agenda of the event will be announced soon.

We will award the winners in the following nominations:

  • SOCIETY (with Yevhen Dykyi, scientist, and director of the National Antarctic Research Center of Ukraine)
  • PLANET (with Olena Froliak, editor-in-chief of Fakty ICTV, Environmental Ambassador of the UNGC Ukraine)
  • PROSPERITY (with Oleksandr Rodnyansky, Presidential Advisor (Ukraine), Supervisory Board Member at State Savings Bank of Ukraine, Assistant Professor of Economics (Cambridge))
  • WARRIORS OF LIGHT (with Viktoria Apanasenko, Miss Ukraine Universe 2022, Peace Ambassador of the UNGC Ukraine)

The winners will be selected by an international jury:

  • Hitomi Sakamoto, Honored Professor at Toyo Gakuen University in Tokyo, Japan
  • Vanessa Hans, Head of Private Sector at the Basel Institute on Governance
  • Antonio Hautle, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein
  • Marcel Engel, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network Germany
  • Yevheniya Afanasenko, British-Ukrainian environmentalist, ESG expert and sustainability promoter
  • Gauthier Vasseur, Executive Director, Fisher Center for Business Analytics, University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business

The discussion will focus on the importance and impact of partnerships on Ukraine’s sustainable development, identifying key challenges and the importance of international support for Ukraine’s economic and social stabilization and further recovery from the war.

It will be moderated by Olena Froliak, editor-in-chief of Fakty ICTV, Environmental Ambassador of the UNGC Ukraine.
