The Ukrainian network of the world’s largest community of responsible businesses, the UN Global Compact Ukraine, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The UN Global Compact Ukraine serves as a platform that assists the Ukrainian private sector in making progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals and brings stakeholders together to collaboratively work towards the sustainable recovery of Ukraine, as a result of Russia’s war. As a key UN agency supporting projects, UNOPS also contributes to the implementation of sustainable development projects. Additionally, the agency helps in realising initiatives aimed at supporting people in need.

On behalf of the UNGC Ukraine, the Memorandum was signed by the Executive Director, Tetiana Sakharuk. She stated:

“We are all currently working towards one goal — to restore Ukraine and do everything in our power for its victory in the unjust war with Russia. I value our partnership with UNOPS and am confident that we can reinforce each other’s sustainable initiatives, making sustainable development a robust foundation in the awareness of the entire Ukrainian society for shaping our future.”

Tim Lardner, UNOPS Country Director in Ukraine, signed the Memorandum on behalf of UNOPS.

“This partnership signifies a commitment to collaboration and shared goals in fostering sustainable development, leveraging the expertise of both organisations. Through this agreement, we aim to enhance awareness of, and streamline access to, UNOPS procurement systems for private sector entities in Ukraine. Our joint efforts will be directed towards advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, making a lasting impact in the country. This partnership underscores our commitment to a more sustainable and prosperous future for all.”
