In June 2023, the Ukrainian corporation Biosphere became a Participant of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest community of responsible businesses. The corporation pledged to adhere to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in four areas: human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

Biosphere Corporation is the leading manufacturer and distributor of household and hygiene products and a key player on the AFH market of professional goods and private labels in Ukraine, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Biosphere was founded in 1997 in Dnipro, Ukraine, and over 26 years has grown from a local startup to an international corporation and industry leader.

The corporation has three factories and a logistics complex in Ukraine, two production facilities in Romania and Estonia, and sales offices in Europe. The corporation’s product portfolio includes more than 1,000 products and 14 own brands, including such well-known brands as Freken BOK, Smile, Vortex, Bambik, Lady Cotton, Novita and others. The company’s products are represented in more than 20 global markets in Europe and Central Asia.

For more than 26 years, the corporation has been present in the Ukrainian market, and Biosphere has been actively supporting the Sustainable Development Goals all these years. In particular, the corporation implements many projects and cooperates with relevant government agencies, NGOs, and charitable foundations to support environmental initiatives, promote a culture of responsible waste management and implement a circular economy; implement social, charitable, cultural, and educational projects; and maintain a high corporate culture, standards of integrity, ethics, and gender equality within the corporation.

“We create values” is the motto of Biosphere Corporation. And for 26 years, we have been following it in everything. For us, joining the UN Global Compact means emphasizing and demonstrating our responsibility to society. This step toward changes will help create a better future for all humanity. We strive to create new values in Ukraine and the world, to build a future in which balanced development and social responsibility go side by side. We are pleased and honored to become partners of such a powerful organization,” said Andriy Zdesenko, founder and CEO of Biosphere Corporation.

The main areas of sustainable development that Biosphere is involved in Ukraine are gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, and quality education.
